Rotovac Rug Cleaning

RUG CLEANING

Rugs are often a feature piece in a room – sometimes imported, purchased while travelling or chosen because they have particular value or meaning. Others are simply practical, protecting flooring or covering a less-than-perfect surface. Whatever their purpose, regular foot traffic, pets, spills and everyday use can leave rugs collecting dirt, dust, hair and stains over time.

Hobbs Cleaning Ltd provides professional rug cleaning for everyday household rugs as well as rugs that require more careful assessment. Our experienced cleaning operators assess the rug, its construction, condition and level of soiling before deciding on the most suitable cleaning treatment.

Whether you need a single rug cleaned or want to combine rug cleaning with carpet or upholstery cleaning, our team can provide a professional residential rug cleaning service, subject to our £150 minimum order.

GET YOUR RUG CLEANED … LIKE MAGIC!

RUGS, UPHOLSTERY & HIGH-MUCK AREAS

Afraid of what’s lurking in your rug, behind your sofa – or stuck to your dining room chairs? Rugs, upholstery and other soft furnishings in busy parts of the home can all collect more dirt and everyday debris than you might expect.

These are what we, in the industry, call HIGH-MUCK AREAS. They are dirt magnets – not to mention food and drink spills, animal hair, dust and the everyday grime that can become embedded in rugs, furniture and soft furnishings. It’s not pleasant when you see what has built up, but don’t take it personally – every busy home experiences it. AND WE CAN SORT IT OUT.

There is simply no escaping grime build-up, particularly in high-use areas such as kitchens, dining rooms and sitting rooms – but don’t leave it to fester. Call in the team at Hobbs Cleaning Ltd. As well as professional rug cleaning, we are experienced in cleaning UPHOLSTERY and soft furnishings. Rugs, carpets and upholstery can be cleaned during the same visit, or we can visit specifically for upholstery or rug cleaning, subject to our minimum order.

RUG CLEANING PRICES:

Our rug cleaning prices are based mainly on the size of the rug and whether you choose cleaning only or our Clean & Protect option. Small rug cleaning starts from £25, with prices for medium, large and extra-large rugs shown below.

Please note: there is a minimum order of £150 to cover equipment set-up costs.

Flats / Apartments: due to our heavy professional cleaning equipment, ground-floor or lift access is preferred and we require nearby parking. Where stair access means a second cleaning technician is required, an additional £40 charge may apply. Please tell us about access when requesting your rug cleaning quote.

All of our cleaning operators are fully trained, uniformed and fully insured to carry out work in your home.

We generally recommend having regularly used rugs professionally cleaned around once every 12 months. Regular rug maintenance and the appropriate cleaning frequency will depend on foot traffic, pets, spills, rug material and overall condition.

RUG CLEANING AT YOUR CONVENIENCE

Rugs need a lot of maintenance and special care. With constant use, they can accumulate dust, dirt, animal hair, residues and bacteria that we cannot always see. They may hold up to 200,000 bacteria per square inch, which is around 4000 times more than your toilet seat. Regular professional cleaning can therefore help keep heavily used rugs cleaner and better maintained.

Certain stains can cause permanent damage to a rug, which may eventually result in replacement rather than a deep clean – something we know can be costly. By calling our team of advanced cleaning technicians, we aim to provide the very best solution for your individual rug, helping restore a cleaner, fresher appearance and, where possible, provide many more years of life.

Once hygienically cleaned and the stains have been treated, we can also offer you a choice of different scents where suitable, making your rug not only smell clean but smell fresh and more to your taste. We always aim for the best possible result, although complete stain removal cannot be guaranteed.

SPECIALIST RUG CLEANING & ASSESSMENT

Not every rug should be cleaned in exactly the same way. Fibres, dyes, age, construction, previous treatments and existing damage can all affect the most suitable cleaning method, which is why Hobbs assesses rugs individually before treatment.

If you have a Persian, Oriental, Afghan, Arabic, Turkish, Chinese, silk or antique rug, please tell us when requesting your quotation. Our cleaning operator can assess the rug and advise whether it is suitable for our professional rug cleaning process or whether a different specialist treatment may be more appropriate.

This case-by-case approach allows us to choose a treatment suited to the individual rug rather than using exactly the same cleaning process on every piece.

FAQ

Q - Why choose Hobbs for professional rug cleaning?

A – Hobbs Cleaning Ltd has a 100% customer satisfaction rating and has happily served more than 10,000 customers, with much of our work coming through recommendations and repeat business. We pride ourselves on being professional, reliable and thorough, using professional cleaning equipment and experienced, trained operators to achieve the best possible result for each rug.

Q - Are your rug cleaning products safe for children and pets?

A – Yes. The cleaning products we use are non-toxic and selected with homes, children and pets in mind. Hobbs Cleaning Ltd also uses environmentally friendly cleaning products as part of our professional cleaning service.

Q - How often should rugs be professionally cleaned?

A – For regularly used rugs, we generally recommend professional rug cleaning around once every 12 months. The right frequency depends on foot traffic, pets, spills, the rug material and its overall condition. Regular cleaning and rug maintenance can also help keep the rug looking its best for longer.

Q - How long does a rug take to dry after cleaning?

A – A professionally cleaned rug will typically take around 6–8 hours to dry, although drying time can vary depending on the rug material, cleaning method, level of soiling, room temperature and ventilation. Your cleaning operator can give you more specific drying advice after assessing and cleaning the rug.

Q - What professional rug cleaning methods do you use?

A – Where suitable, Hobbs Cleaning Ltd mainly uses professional hot-water extraction, commonly referred to as steam cleaning. We can also use low-moisture cleaning methods where appropriate. The method is selected according to the rug’s fibres, construction, condition and cleaning requirements rather than using exactly the same process for every rug.

Q - Do I need to move furniture before rug cleaning?

A – Where possible, we ask customers to remove small items and furniture sitting directly on the rug before we arrive. We understand this is not always practical, so please let us know about larger or heavier furniture and our cleaning operator can advise on the best approach.

Q- Can you clean rugs in flats and apartments?

A – Yes, but please tell us about access when booking. Our professional cleaning equipment is heavy, so ground-floor or lift access is preferred and nearby parking is required. Where stair access means that a second cleaning technician is needed, an additional £40 charge may apply.

Q - Are you fully insured for rug cleaning?

A – Yes. Hobbs Cleaning Ltd has full public liability insurance and treatment risk insurance with Hiscox Insurance, with cover up to £1,000,000. Our cleaning operators are also fully trained, uniformed and insured to carry out work in your home.

Q - Can professional rug cleaning remove all stains?

A – Professional rug cleaning can significantly improve many stains, and stain treatment is included where appropriate. However, complete stain removal cannot be guaranteed. Results depend on the type of stain, how long it has been present, previous cleaning attempts, the rug material and whether permanent discolouration or damage has already occurred. Please point out any stains you are particularly concerned about before cleaning begins.

Q - Can you clean Persian, Oriental, silk and antique rugs?

A – We can assess Persian, Oriental, Afghan, Arabic, Turkish, Chinese, silk and antique rugs before treatment. Fibres, dyes, age, construction, previous treatments and existing damage can all affect which cleaning method is suitable. Our cleaning operator will assess the individual rug and advise whether it is suitable for our professional rug cleaning process or whether a different specialist treatment may be more appropriate.

Q - What is your cancellation policy?

A – If you need to cancel or amend your rug cleaning appointment, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours’ notice before your scheduled clean wherever possible.

Q - How do I pay for rug cleaning?

A – Payment is requested on completion of the job. We currently accept cash or card payments.
